
Research Priorities
Patient and kidney donor partners have a critical role to play in advancing research that can improve kidney care in Canada. We understand the care and knowledge gaps better than anyone. Our goal is to develop a knowledgeable network of patients and donors who want to be involved in sparking and supporting ongoing research that they think would be most beneficial to patients.
- Develop Research Exchange Portal – Creation of a unique portal through which CKD patients can share their research ideas with researchers and researchers can find patient interested in working with them on innovative research projects –$15,000
- Research Competition – Creation of a new fund to support a research competition set up and managed entirely by patients and donors on research topics that matter most to them – $50,000 – $100,000
- Knowledge Gathering, Sharing and Mobilization – Engaging with and sharing critical across our network on the latest research and information through social media, conventional media, webinars and focus groups – $25,000
- Patient Research Partner Training Module – Develop training module(s) for patient partners to help them understand their roles and responsibilities as patient partners in research – $10,000
